Prevent Nausea with Kratom
One of the possible unpleasant side effects of Kratom is nausea. Nausea is fairly common, and some users will even vomit. By taking a few precautionary steps, you can avoid nausea when taking Kratom.
The reason that most people get nauseous when taking Kratom is because they take too high of a dosage of the plant. When starting with Kratom, always take the lower threshold dosage. Continue with this lower dosage for the first few times so your body can get used to it. Then, slowly increase the dosage.
Spread Out the Dosage
When you take a large dosage of Kratom at once, it gives your body a lot to process. This can result in some unpleasant side effects like nausea (as well as headaches). Instead of gulping down your entire Kratom dosage at once, spread it out. Take a small amount at first. Then, if you aren’t feeling nauseous and want to increase the effects, take a bit more about 45 minutes later.
Try a Different Strain
Everyone reacts differently to Kratom, and they even react differently to the various strains of Kratom. If Kratom is constantly giving you nausea, try a different strain to see if it helps.
Take an Antacid
The key with this is to take the antacid before you take the Kratom. Remember that your GI system needs stomach acid, so you shouldn’t take antacids regularly. If you are an occasional Kratom user, then an antacid for the nausea will be okay.
Eat a Small Meal Beforehand
Having something to eat before taking Kratom can help prevent nausea. However, you don’t want to gorge yourself on a large meal. Have some fruit and yogurt, or multi-grain bread.
Drink Electrolyte Water
Kratom is a mild diuretic, which means it causes your body to lose fluids. Prolonged use of Kratom can cause your body to become dehydrated and cause loss of potassium and other electrolytes. When this happens, you might feel nauseous while taking Kratom. To prevent the problem, you need to make sure you get lots of fluids while taking Kratom. Take electrolytes (which are available as supplements or in sports drinks) to replenish the ones you’ve lost.
